Mutualink’s Infrastructure Engineering Team is seeking a talented Release Engineer to join our team. Our mission is to work collaboratively with Product Development, Quality Assurance, and Customer Support to deliver, monitor, and maintain Mutualink's products and services. Job Location: Remote within the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Own and operate the company's release engineering infrastructure, including physical and virtual hardware, automation tooling, and continuous integration (CI) resources
  • Evaluate and select modern technologies to build automation solutions for Mutualink services
  • Audit and secure services across development, test, and live environments
  • Work directly with other teams to onboard their software projects in the the CI system, and help them maintain their projects

Requirements

  • Take a leadership role to set direction for Mutualink on SDLC, software builds and automation
  • Define and manage process for releasing software
  • Own SDLC process and policy documents
  • Manage App and Play Store submissions
  • Manage public safety app certification ecosystem submissions
  • Manage builds and various build runners
  • Monthly reporting on releases and status – communication to stakeholders (internal/external customers, development, customer support and management)
  • Setting up and managing nightly builds
  • Setting up and maintaining various scanning tools for security vulnerabilities, code integrity, etc.
  • Work with Dev and QA teams to develop automated testing. Hands on experience with build automation tools, including general scripting languages, Gradle, make, maven, and XCode build
  • Work with Manufacturing to provide new and updated builds and packages for various types of system configuration
  • Real world experience working in and administering Linux, macOS, and Windows environments
  • A desire to implement better security practices throughout release engineering infrastructure and tooling. This includes sustaining engineering activities, like identification of patches & updates to get into test and deployment pipeline
  • Solid understanding of git's command line interface and its various configuration files and parameters
  • Understanding of at least one continuous integration system (GitLab CI is a bonus!)
  • Code signing tooling experience, and an understanding of the chain of trust
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible or Terraform. 
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced environment

About the Infrastructure Engineering Team

The Infrastructure Engineering team is charged with expanding and maintaining both the company's own private cloud, and external cloud presence. The team works with a wide variety of software and hardware components, including the HashiCorp tools suite, VMWare, high-density servers, and out-of-band management tools. The team makes best efforts to identify failure domains and provide solutions that will prevent or limit the impact of system failures.

Compensation:  We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package (Health, Vision, Dental and Group Life Insurance, 401K Plan & Match, PTO, and Holiday Pay), a great team to work with and a mission that you can be part of that will absolutely make a difference. This position offers a fixed annual base salary. The annual salary range for this position is $109,000 - $136,000 based on an individual's overall qualifications, experience, skill level, geography, expertise, and education/training at time of hire.  Promotional and advancement opportunities are available to reach top pay.  This pay range can be modified at any time at the sole discretion of the Company.
