The Executive Director of Federal Sales will have responsibility for new customer acquisition, sales strategy and execution within the Federal Government industry promoting our intelligent incident management and smart cities solution.  You will be deeply familiar with USG Civilian Agencies and the DoD community, including the channel partner landscape and will own our strategy, operations and results. You will lead by example and generate large enterprise deals across your industry.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop a go-to-market strategy with channel partners and leverage their demand generation
  • Build and grow a Team of high performing Trusted Advisors accountable for revenue results and customer loyalty
  • Sell to all U.S. Federal Government agencies, integrators and defense sector our software and services
  • Lead entire sales cycle from initial opportunity creation to finalizing opportunity outcome. This includes prospecting campaigns, driving the discovery process at meetings with both prospects and clients, forecasting, selling with Value Framework, and ultimately closing the deal
  • Lead client facing presentations with executive level stakeholders; travel to client locations as needed
  • Prepare responses to customer proposals, build quotes, and develop targeted account plans
  • Complete account records, activity and reporting in Salesforce.com
  • Convert prospects into sales by differentiating from the competition
  • Partner with sales engineers to deliver Mutualink differentiated value
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Mutualink competitive positioning in the marketplace 
  • Meet or exceed revenue quota

The successful candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience: 

  • Based in the DC Metro area (Virginia, DC, Maryland), preferred
  • 10+ years successful field sales experience within the Federal Government market with a proven track record of breaking into new accounts and navigating through complex sales processes
  • 5+ years track record of building successful sales teams
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately forecast sales results
  • Full understanding of the US Government’s acquisition processes and IT budget planning
  • Have high-level relationships and experience working with government agencies, its industry partners and the System Integrator community
  • Professional working knowledge of Federal based contracts
  • Well versed in solution selling sales methodology
  • Knowledge of software technology solutions is a strong plus
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to clearly and effectively articulate Mutualink value
  • Track record of working closely with customers to produce solutions that exceed their mission expectations in a rapidly evolving technology domain
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and use good judgment in resolving difficult issues
  • Excellent balance of strategic and tactical skills
  • Former Military, Law Enforcement, Public Safety Professional, ASIS membership a plus
