U.S. Secretary of Commerce awards Mutualink with the President’s “E” Award, the highest recognition for contributing to U.S. exports expansion.
WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker honored Mutualink with the President’s “E” Award, which is the highest recognition any company can receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports. Secretary Pritzker presented the award to Joe Mazzarella, Sr. Vice President and Chief Legal Counsel of Mutualink, during a ceremony at the Department of Commerce. The President’s “E” Award program was established by President John F. Kennedy in 1961 to honor and provide recognition to America’s most prolific exporters.
Mutualink specializes in real-time interoperable communications for public safety, defense, emergency response and critical infrastructure organizations. The company exports its software and hardware solution to Canada, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Chile, South Africa, Norway and Argentina, enabling secure voice, video and data collaboration across agencies and jurisdictions.
“Mutualink has demonstrated a sustained commitment to export expansion. The “E” Awards Committee was very impressed with Mutualink’s innovative public safety technologies. Mutualink’s achievements have undoubtedly contributed to national export expansion efforts that support the U.S. economy and create American jobs,” said Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker, in her letter to Mutualink announcing its selection.
“Emergency communication is more a global issue than ever before, and the need to share information in real-time is borderless. Mutualink is actively addressing the global marketplace with product innovations targeted to the needs of international customers. We are extremely grateful to the Department of Commerce – both locally and nationally – for nurturing Mutualink’s export activities and supporting us as we continue to expand globally,” said Mark Hatten, Mutualink CEO.
American companies are nominated for “E” Awards through the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service office network, located within the Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration. Record years of successive export growth and an applicant’s demonstration of an innovative international marketing plan that led to the increase in exports is a significant factor in selecting the overall winners.
