Extension for Cycle 1
If you missed the January 8th deadline for the 2023-2025 Safety and Facilities Enhancement (SAFE) Cycle 1 Grant, you’re in luck! The TEA has announced an extension to January 26th, 2024. Finalize and submit your application by or before then for the opportunity to be one of 700 recipients being awarded a portion of the allocated $821.5M funds.
Preparing for Cycle 2
Interested in applying but don’t know how or where to start? We’ve gathered everything you need to know to navigate Cycle 2 with ease. SAFE Grant Cycle 2 will award $279.5M to local educational agencies (LEAs) through a formula grant process to help LEAs meet the required safety standards and other statutory school safety requirements.
Relevant Fund Coverage: The SAFE Grant covers funding for emergency communications solutions and panic buttons, namely Mutualink’s School Safety technology, the world’s leading automated emergency response solution.
Application Deadline: The deadline for the 2023-2025 Safety and Facilities Enhancement (SAFE) Cycle 2 Grant is January 31st, 2024.
Wondering if Your School Qualifies?
It’s easy to determine if you qualify for this SAFE Grant. You are eligible to receive funds if your school falls into one of the following two categories:
- School districts and open-enrollment charter schools with a reported enrollment of at least one student from the October 2021 PEIMS fall snapshot submission
- Charter schools that opened prior to January 1, 2024 (the date of grant availability)
Please Note: Private schools do not qualify for funding.
