Proven multimedia interoperability enables sharing of voice and video
PROVIDENCE, RI, July 24, 2017 — Mutualink, a leader in secure public safety communications, has announced that it collaborated with Rhode Island State Police (RISP) as a technology provider and sponsor for the National Governors Association summer meeting last week. Mutualink equipped the RISP with its best-in-class multimedia interoperability solution, enabling the sharing of voice, video and data between the RISP and their public and private partners in the Capital area.
During the event, which ran July 13 – 16, the Rhode Island State Police was tasked with securing the Capital area for the 32 governors and 1800 attendees. The meeting took place at the Rhode Island Convention Center, with indoor and outdoor events that included Water Fire and a Saturday evening event in Newport. Recognizing the benefits of Mutualink’s secure platform and its unique capability for providing multimedia interoperability among public and private partners for events and emergencies, the RISP invited Mutualink to provide the platform to the Capital Police, the RI Convention Center, Omni Hotel and other area partners.
To ensure the highest level of security for the visiting governors and other dignitaries, state and local authorities worked together for weeks to prepare for the meeting. “We are proud that Mutualink’s secure multimedia interoperability solution was chosen by Rhode Island State Police for establishing radio interoperability and sharing video between law enforcement and partners in support of the larger security operation” said Mutualink President Colin McWay.
