Mutualink’s Infrastructure and Operations Group is seeking a talented IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. In the I&O Group we work as a team and we work very hard. We do not cut corners and we do not take the easy route. We encourage dissent, critical thinking, and an ongoing desire to improve. We are intentionally casting a wide net and do not expect candidates to possess ALL of the following skills. These are the directions our group wants to explore and we are seeking the right individual to help us get there.

The IT Infrastructure Engineer will work side-by-side with Development, Quality Assurance, and Customer Support teams and be primarily responsible for automation of our hybrid cloud services. As a principle contributor to the Mutualink Interoperable Response and Preparedness Platform (IRAPP), this position is a versatile opportunity to contribute to the success of the platform by leveraging the latest technologies within a collaborative team of engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop requirements for new services, engaging in iterative development of infrastructure and applications, and integrating services in the live environment
  • Ownership of DevOps practices and live services that Mutualink applications rely on to serve our customers
  • Serve in a site reliability engineering (SRE) role
  • Evaluation and selection of existing software technology to build automation solutions for Mutualink services
  • Securing services across development, test, and live environments

Qualifications

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Linux & Windows environments, source code control systems, and release management
  • Expertise working with virtualization technologies like VMware, Hyper-V, Xen, or KVM and containerization technologies like Docker, LXD, or Rocket
  • Knowledge of federation with LDAP solutions like Active Directory, ForgeRock, or SailPoint
  • Experience with one or more configuration management tools like Ansible, Salt, Chef, or Puppet
  • Experience with monitoring, reporting, and logging tools at local and cloud scale like Splunk, ELK Stack, or Nagios
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced environment

Bonus Qualifications:

    • Installing and configuring Identity Providers and knowledge of OpenID, OAuth2, and SAML
    • Python, Golang, or Rust experience
    • Familiarity with HashiCorp tools like Teraform, Packer, Vault, and Consul
    • Strong relational database fundamentals, hands-on experience with non-relational/NoSQL alternatives, and solid grasp of which to use when
    • Advanced knowledge of memes and their application within a software development environment
    • Knowledge of TCP/IP and familiarity with network equipment like Cisco, HPE, or Cumulus
