Mutualink’s Infrastructure Engineering group is seeking a talented Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join our team. Our mission is to work collaboratively with Product Development, Quality Assurance, and Customer Support to deliver, monitor, and maintain Mutualink’s products and services. We do not cut corners and we do not take the easy route. We encourage critical thinking, discussion, and an ongoing desire to improve. We are intentionally casting a wide net and do not expect candidates to possess ALL of the required skills. These are the directions our group wants to explore and are seeking the right people to help us get there.

As a principal contributor to the Mutualink IRAPP (Interoperable Response and Preparedness Platform), this position is a versatile opportunity to contribute to the success of the platform by leveraging the latest technologies within a collaborative team of engineers.


  • Developing requirements for new services, engaging in iterative development on infrastructure and applications, and integrating services in the live environment
  • Own and operate services that Mutualink applications rely on to serve our customers
  • Evaluate and select modern technologies to build automation solutions for Mutualink services
  • Audit and secure services across development, test, and live environments


  • Knowledge of Linux & Windows environments, source code control systems, and release management
  • Expertise working with virtualization technologies like VMware, Hyper-V and/or Xen
  • Experience using containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker, LXD, Kubernetes and/or Swarm
  • Knowledge of federation with LDAP solutions like Active Directory, ForgeRock, or SailPoint
  • Experience with one or more configuration management tools like Ansible, Salt, Chef, or Puppet
  • Experience with monitoring, reporting, and logging tools at local and cloud scale like Splunk, ELK Stack, or Nagios
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced environment

Bonus Experience

  • Installing and configuring Identity Providers and knowledge of OpenID, OAuth2, and SAML
  • Python, Golang, or Rust experience
  • Advanced knowledge of memes and their application within a software development environment
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and familiarity with network equipment like Cisco, HPE, or Cumulus

About the Infrastructure Engineering Team

The Infrastructure Engineering team is charged with expanding and maintaining both the company’s own private cloud, and external cloud presence. The team works with a wide variety of software and hardware components, including the HashiCorp tools suite, VMWare, high-density servers, and out-of-band management tools. The team makes best efforts to identify failure domains and provide solutions that will prevent or limit the impact of system failures.

Job level assignment and associated compensation are determined based on the Company’s assessment and evaluation of a candidate’s overall qualifications and experience in accordance with its policies.
