Mutualink’s Software Development Team is currently seeking a Senior Android Developer to aid in the development of a real-time collaboration application targeting the public safety, utility and homeland security industries. Features of the application include, but are not limited to, live video and audio streaming both to and from the Android device, integration with cloud-based services, text chat and file sharing. This position provides a significant opportunity to drive the direction of the product and the company’s mobile strategy for Android.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain Mutualink’s Android applications
  • Collaborate and coordinate with client development team, including other mobile development efforts
  • Engage with the Android development community to enhance Mutualink’s mobile offerings
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver new features within the context of overall product delivery

Job Qualifications

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related subject
  • Minimum of 5 years of Java software development experience
  • Proven work experience in Android application development within published applications
  • In-depth knowledge of Android SDK and understanding of Android trends and architecture
  • Experience with REST, XML and JSON
  • Knowledge of SIP/VoIP and H.264 video preferred
  • Understanding of sockets and network protocols TCP, UDP and TLS
  • Experience designing complex, service-based applications, including collaborative design of API
  • Experience designing for low power, continuous operating applications and multi-threaded design
  • Familiarity with C++, with ability to debug and modify JNI and C++ components
  • Familiarity with gradle, makefiles
  • Experience with tools such as Charles Web Debugging Proxy, wireshark, gdb, and/or CI
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
